Melons are great from August 1 - October 1

Melons are a specialty crop for me, I've worked very hard for nearly a decade to find the the best tasting melon varieties in the world and then narrow that down to one that grow well here.  It turns out that I'm a member of a rich and lengthy tradition of melon enthusiasts. And I have a number of knockout good melons, a relatively even balance of heirloom and modern melon breeds.

I usually eat melons as is, but sometimes, especially in really good seasons, I juice them and use the juice as a cocktail mixer esp. with Grand Marnier, Dark Rum, and Vanilla-infused Brandy. Or, I finely slice them, garnish with roughly chopped basil, and dress with a little salt and lemon juice.
